Westchester Arts and Music Event
Sep 21 @ 10:00 am – 8:00 pm

The Emerson Avenue Community Garden is hosting the Fourth Annual Westchester Arts & Music (WAM) Block Party — a free day-long community event with live music and dance, art, vendors & community booths, kids activities, garden tours, food trucks, and socializing. Kentwood will host a booth to share a bit about what an awesome school Kentwood is and how arts and music play a role at our school. At the booth we will distribute fliers/information, have a little project if kids want to make something, and sell our t-shirts. As a volunteer you get to tell people about the school and meet people from the community. Please join us!

Walk to School Day
Oct 2 @ 7:30 am – 8:00 am

International Walk to School Day is a global event that involves communities from more than 40 countries walking and biking to school on the same day. It began in 1997 as a one-day event. Over time, this event has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school and a celebration – with record breaking participation – each October. Today, thousands of schools across America – from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico – participate every October.

Join Kentwood in celebrating the true community school that it is and walk to school on October 2!

PS. Interested in having your child’s walk to school posted on the Kentwood website? Email (brianne.gilbert@lmu.edu) or text (310-321-8882) Bri Gilbert with your best pic!

and fun with other new Koalas!

This is a fun event where we bike and scooter around Westchester and do an activity at each house!  We start at Kentwood and decorate our bikes and scooters, and then head to the first house.  The first house is a snack, the second house is an activity like bracelet making or a game, and the third house is a bouncy and pizza.
