Congratulations Kentwood Elementary students, teachers, administrators and parents! Kentwood's 2009 API score of 859 is an impressive 42 points higher than the previous year. That means that Kentwood students performed over 5% better on state-mandated standardized tests in 2009 than they did in 2008, with an incredible 96 point (+12%) increase over the last two years! The API (or Academic Performance Index) is a numeric index that ranges from a low of 200 to a high of 1000 with a statewide target of 800.
